So we’ve got our first individual assignment to complete for our Organisation Behaviour paper and my official title for the moment is:
Fostering a culture of discipline in world of distraction.
I’ll be looking at it both from a personal/psychological perspective and also environmentally what goes on in the work place to perpetuate distraction.
I’d be interested in finding out how your environment works in relation to this topic, specifically:
1. How do you manage distraction. (personally and environmentally)
2. Is information overload a major cause of distraction (eg. notifications, emails etc.)
3. What impact, in your opinion, does distraction have on your ability to perform efficiently.
I’d be really keen to hear from you, if you feel like commenting directly on this post or if you want to provide more detail or discuss more formally then feel free to contact me on nick.niblett@gmail.com
Look forward to hearing your thoughts….
So officially it’s been a month since beginning my MBA journey, which I have to admit has been a blast, I guess I’m just one of those people who love learning. Interestingly our first paper is on Organisational Behaviour which focuses on leadership and people.
It’s been a great practical paper in that every environment you go through is psycho analysed based on new learnings. Which I’m not sure is overly helpful cause I’m sure there some stuff you just don’t want to know about people and environments.
I’ve been thinking though what is the one thing that you could take out of this paper, and I have to say it to BE Human. So much of who we are is influenced by our work, families the self image we’d like to portray that invariably we lose the true essence of who we are. In some instances we’ve not been ourselves for so long, that some of us need to rediscover who we are.
Which is another conversation all together.
So just a morning thought and a word of encouragement.
Find yourself, Be Human, Be Legendary!
